Bogenhausen was and is the most prestigious residential district in Munich. Located on the right side of the Isar River, the former village was incorporated in 1892. With the construction of Prinzregentenstraße, the Friedensengel statue (Angel of Peace) and Prince Regent Theatre in the early 1900s, Bogenhausen experienced an outright boom.
