The Old South Cemetery, quietly hidden away from the bustle of the city centre, is an enchanted place where memories abound. Many famous Munich residents such as Klenze, Spitzweg and Pettenkofer are buried here. On our tour the short poems and stories of their lives bring – for a few fleeting moments – the dead to life again.
The beautifully fashioned gravestones, tomb sculptures and monuments are particularly moving.
