Typisch München!
“He who lives in Munich is half-spared the earnestness of life.”
Eugen Roth
The Münchner Stadtmuseum (Munich City Museum) has opened its new permanent exhibition (“Typisch München!”) on the occassion of the 850th anniversary of the city’s founding. In terms of communal emancipation, the cultural history of Munich is best recounted in a tour through the newly renovated armoury on Sankt-Jakobs-Platz, the building in which the city museum is located.
The most important items from the collection documenting the development of the city can be viewed in this exhibition. Divided into five historic sections, it delves into the question “What is typical for Munich, since when and above all why?” (text: Münchner Stadtmuseum)
Opening times: Tuesdays - Sundays, 10 am - 6 pm
Length of our tour: 90 min.
